07/04/23 - Bou claimed the first X-Trial of Bordeaux, too

Toni Bou (Repsol Honda Trial Team) took his third win of the 2023 X-Trial season by securing the Bordeaux X-Trial with a margin of four points. It was a very hard-fought final, which lasted beyond the six sections, for the play-off to attribute second place, which went to Adam Raga (TRRS) on Jaime Busto (GasGas) by just one point.

The third section of the final was the one that allowed to reach the best result of the season so far in Raga . He was the only one to clean it. With that small advantage, later recovered by Busto in the following zones, he was able to compete and win the place of honour.

Bou (1st): “It was a very demanding event in which I gradually improved, riding at a high level in the Final even if I started with a mistake in Section One. I am sure it was an exciting X-Trial for the spectators, but it was tense for us. Nonetheless, leading the Championship with three wins and a second heading into the summer break is great news for me.”

Raga (2nd): “Returning to the podium and just a day after my 41st birthday is brilliant. Perhaps in a couple of Sections here or there I might have been able to do a bit better, but I am happy with my score and position. Also, even in the X-Trials where I haven’t made the podium I feel like I have been riding at a similarly high level.”

Busto (3rd): “Again today I have ridden at a high level even allowing for a few small mistakes in the Final and the tie-break where I lost second place to Adam. But the main thing is to finish consistently on the podium which I haven’t managed before this season”

The X-Trial World Championship has reached its halfway point, but will only return after the summer break on October 7th in Andorra la Vella.

Bou vince anche il primo l'X-Trial di Bordeaux

Toni Bou (Repsol Honda Trial Team) ha ottenuto la sua terza vittoria della stagione X-Trial 2023 assicurandosi l'X-Trial di Bordeaux con un margine di quattro punti. E' stata una finale molto combattuta, che si è protratta oltre alle sei zone, per lo spareggio per attribuire il secondo posto, andato ad Adam Raga (TRRS) su Jaime Busto (GasGas) per un solo punto.

La terza zona della finale è stata quella che ha permesso di raggiungere il miglior risultato della stagione finora a Raga . E' stato l'unico a passarla a zero. Con quel piccolo vantaggio , poi recuperato da Busto nelle zone successive, ha potuto giocarsi e vincere la piazza d'onore.

Progressi per Matteo Grattarola (Vertigo) soprattutto nel primo round. Sesto posto finale con distacchi minimi dai suoi predecessori.

Bou (1°): “È stato un evento molto impegnativo in cui sono migliorato gradualmente, guidando ad un livello elevato in Finale anche se sono partito con un errore nella prima zona. Sono sicuro che è stato un emozionante X-Trial per gli spettatori, ma è stato teso per noi. Tuttavia, guidare il campionato con tre vittorie e una seconda in vista della pausa estiva è una grande notizia per me”.

Raga (2°): “Tornare sul podio e solo un giorno dopo il mio 41° compleanno è fantastico. Forse in un paio di sezioni qui o là avrei potuto fare un po' meglio, ma sono contento del mio punteggio e della mia posizione. Inoltre, anche negli X-Trials, dove non sono salito sul podio, mi sono sentito come se stessi guidando a un livello altrettanto alto”.

Busto (3°): “Anche oggi ho guidato ad alto livello pur ammettendo qualche piccolo errore in finale e al tie-break dove ho perso la seconda posizione a favore di Adam. Ma la cosa principale è finire costantemente sul podio, cosa che non sono mai riuscito a fare prima di questa stagione”.

L'X-Trial World Championship è giunto al giro di boa, ma torna solo dopo la pausa estiva il 7 ottobre ad Andorra la Vella.
