15/04/15 - FIM Europe Championship is back with two rounds in Luserna San Giovanni, Italy

Everything is almost ready in Luserna San Giovanni, near Turin, Piedmont, North-West of Italy to host the second and third round of the 2015 FIM Europe Trial Championship. On 18th and on 19th of July all the riders fighting for the three championships more blazoned are joining together again after more than three months, when in Pietramurata, Trentino, they met for the first round of the season.

In Italy as in many South European Countries Summer is very hot. Luserna San Giovanni is is located 500 meters above the sea level and the highest part of the loop is at about 1000 mt, so two hot days are expected but with little breeze. And fortunately 13 sections out of 15 were drawn in a shadowed zone, under some trees. The 9 km long circuit has three group of sections. The closest to the start is 200 mt and consists of five sections, which are the 1, 2, 13, 14 and 15. Then, reachable easily by car or walking 15-20 minutes, there is a group of 4 sections: from 3 to 6. The other 6 sections are in the highest part of the loop and it is better to use a motorbike to watch them, because the road is very narrow.

In the same place as the start and for the two days of this weekend there will be also an Off-Road Car Exhibition. The public is expected to be in large number to watch both the events.

On the scene about 80 riders split in 5 categories. In the most important class, there are many riders on whom we could bet for the victory. The two riders that in the first round shared the lowest score and the winner was decided by one single clean -- we mean Italian Gianluca Tournour (Gas Gas) and Frenchman Steven Coquelin (Gas Gas) -- must pay attention to the great shape of Frenchman Quentin Carles de Caudemberg (Beta), nowadays leader in the World Cup class of the FIM World Championship and to Spanish Francesc Moret (Vertigo) who is riding in the World Pro class, still in the world championship, and practically is accustomed to ride the same sections as Bou & company.

In the Junior class, dominated in the previous occasion by Frenchman Pierre Sauvage (Sherco) we will see the progress made by the new generation, quite consistent in this series. For Dutch John Van Veelen (Ossa) here comes the possible revenge against Vr Feltrinelli (Sherco) who finished ahead of him in Pietramurata in Over 40 class.

Ritorna il campionato FIM Europe con due prove a Luserna San Giovanni, TO

Tutto pronto in Luserna San Giovanni, TO, per dare il via alla seconda e terza prova del 2015 FIM Europe Trial Championship. Nel prossimo week-end riprende dunque quel campionato europeo cha aveva esordito ancora in Italia a Pietramurata più di tre mesi fa. Il moto club Alpi Ovest di Torre Pellice, come organizzatore ha chiesto ed ottenuto il patrocinio della Regione Piemonte e della Città Metropolitana di Torino. Sono previste alte cariche di queste istituzioni alla premiazione e, nella speranza di tutti, anche tra il pubblico che assisterà all'evento. Purtroppo saranno giornate calde come temperatura , in linea con quanto sta succedendo un po' ovunque, ma essendo il percorso fra i 500 ed i 1000 mt di altitudine, ci si aspetta anche un po' di arietta fresca, soprattutto nelle zone controllate, perchè ben 13 su 15 sono nell'ombra dei boschi. Il giro è lungo circa 9 km. Sono tre i gruppi di zone. Uno vicinissimo alla partenza con la zona 1 2, 13, 14 e 15. Poi, raggiungibile con la vettura o camminando per 15-20 minuti, un gruppo di altre 4 zone: dalla 3 alla 6. Le altre 6 zone sono nella parte alta del giro ed è meglio andarci in moto. Tutti i piloti faranno 2 giri. Il primo partirà intorno alle 9. La gara finirà alle 16.00 . Paddock con partenza ed arrivo presso gli impianti sportivi del Luserna Calcio.

Nel medesimo posto della partenza ci sarà anche una Fiera e raduno dei 4x4 auto, quindi ci si attende un folto pubblico incuriosito da ben due eventi.

Di scena circa 80 piloti, provenienti da 14 nazioni, divisi in 5 categorie. Nella classe regina, ci sono diversi concorrenti con le carte in regola per puntare alla vittoria. I due che avevano terminato a pari punteggio alla prima prova e si era dovuto ricorrere alla discriminate degli zeri per determinare il vincitore, ovvero Gianluca Tournour (Gas Gas) ed il francese Steven Coquelin (Gas Gas) dovranno fare attenzione alla grande forma del transalpino Quentin Carles de Caudemberg (Beta), attualmente leader nella categoria World Cup del mondiale ed allo spagnolo Francesc Moret (Vertigo) che si sta cimentando addirittura nella classe World Pro del mondiale, praticamente affrontando le stesse zone di Bou & company.

Nella classe Junior , dominata nella precedente occasione dal francese Pierre Sauvage (Sherco), si vedranno i progressi delle nuove generazioni, sempre in numero apprezzabile in questo campionato. Per l'olandese John Van Veelen (Ossa) l'occasione per una rivincita su Valter Feltrinelli (Sherco) che lo ha preceduto a Pietramurata, nella Over 40.
